Pink Pony started out with an experiment. Could I do a really pink soap with plant materials? Turns out the internet was truthful for once!
I infused Himalayan rhubarb powder in olive oil for six weeks. Then the magic happened. After combining the infused oil with my other plant oils and butters, adding the lye solution created this fantastic chemical reaction. (Don’t worry, no lye remains in the finished product. It’s how soap is made!)
The yellow oils turned this vibrant pink. I had to name the soap, Pink Pony. There’s also a baseball reference here and if you know…you know!
The essential oil blend is a subtle but clean mix of palmarosa, cedarwood, sweet orange, and ylang-ylang.
I textured the tops with a little white kaolin clay and Himalayan pink salt. You go with the theme, right?
Use in the shower or bath on the face and body.
Ingredients: Organic olive, avocado and coconut oil, unrefined shea butter, castor oil, raw cocoa butter, organic golden jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, water, sodium hydroxide, Himalayan rhubarb powder, palmarosa, cedarwood, sweet orange and ylang-ylang essential oils, kaolin clay.
Pregnant or nursing women should consult a physician before using any product with essential oils.
